From Sketch to Stitch: The Story Behind ISLA 0.1

Every KUVE collection starts long before the first stitch.

For ISLA 0.1, it began with a feeling, bold resort prints, and silhouettes made for Australian summers. But inspiration is only the beginning. Each piece goes through a careful process before it becomes part of the collection.

It all Starts with Fabric

Before we finalise designs, we begin with fabric swatches.

We look at the texture, weight, and how the fabric moves. Then we place the swatches next to our silhouettes to see if they truly work together.

Does the fabric hold its shape?
Does it drape nicely?
Does it elevate the print?

The fabric must match the design, not fight against it.

Only when everything feels right do we move to the next step.

Sampling & Adjustments

Next, we create samples.

This is when the design becomes real. We try the garments on and check how they sit on the body, how they move, and how they feel.

Sometimes we adjust small details, refining a neckline, slightly changing the waist placement, softening a hemline, or adjusting sleeve volume.

These changes may be small, but they make a big difference.

We repeat this process until the piece feels balanced, structured but effortless.

Sourcing Fabrics & Trims

Once the final silhouette is approved, we source the full fabrics and trims.

This includes buttons, zippers, and linings. Every detail matters. We carefully check that everything works together and feels cohesive.

ISLA 0.1 was designed to feel curated, not mass produced. That means quality checks happen before production even begins.

Final Fit & Manufacturing

Before we manufacture, we do final fittings again.

We check movement, comfort, and proportions across sizes and styles. Only when everything meets our standards do we move forward with production.

Each piece is made in limited quantities. We believe in intentional releases, not overproduction.

Bringing the Collection to Life

After production, we bring ISLA 0.1 to life through the photoshoot.

We choose environments that reflect the feeling of the collection, coastal and modern.The shoot is not just about taking photos. It’s about showing how the garment feels when worn.
